This is a short list of my educational and artistic background that will lenghthen as time passes and experiences are gained.  In no way, shape, or form is this a full portrayal of who I am completely.  Continue to view my art and read my posts to get a clearer picture of who I, Shakita Kirkland, truly am. 

• BA, Furniture Design, Herron School of Art & Design;
  MLS, Library & Information Sciences, Indiana University.

• Specializing in Pastel Painting, Printmaking, and Woodworking.
  My work has been displayed at the Indianapolis Home Show,
  Herron Art Gallery, and in private collections.

• Facilitates project-based art classes to students of all ages and skill
  levels at the Lawrence Art Center, Indianapolis, IN.

• President of Creative Corner, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides creative outreach to underprivileged youth.
